The Befriending Your Body Program (BFYB)™®

is a unique trauma-informed 8-week Somatic Self-Compassion Recovery program teaching you the skills of nervous system regulation, embodiment and self-compassion for disordered eating and making peace with your body, food and self!

Through learning necessary somatic skills, and self-compassion, you will gain:

  • Greater emotion regulation and self-discovery

  • Knowledge on the internal workings and wisdom of your brain, body, and nervous system

  • A “new language” about your body from the INSIDE-OUT which in turn helps you to grow TRUE self-care and intuitive knowledge 

  • An understanding of how internal knowledge helps you regulate tough emotions (anxiety, fear, shame) that block and keep a sense of stuckness. 

  • Awareness on how powerful skills and practices of self-compassion can soothe the hard moments within your nervous system, emotions, and thoughts to keep you moving forward!

This somatic program is the first of its kind, grounded in the polyvagal theory and the evidenced-based practices of Interoceptive Awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness. Based on Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti’s research and book, Befriending Your Body: A Self-Compassionate Approach to Freeing Yourself From Disordered Eating, it is a unique psycho-educational program based on the brain-based knowledge of eating disorders and the world of neuroscience. 

Each week you will read a chapter from Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti’s book, Befriending Your Body, and then you will be invited to engage in the teachings on the primary principles of each phase of recovery and a new view, along with guided somatic practices and self-reflections to build the necessary skill of embodiment in each phase to move you forward in your self-discovery, and your relationship with your body and food.

Hello! My name is Katie and I guide this program from my own passion of what this work has unfolded in my own healing journey. Being taught by Dr. Ann Saffi Biasetti has guided me towards my own embodiment as a source of safety, self-understanding, and from that place a natural gentle and genuine self-compassion for myself, as a living breathing being. As a participant in this program, along with the additional training to become a certified teacher in the BYBP I feel moved in my heart to offer this to others for a safer, more compassionate way to be in the world, and with oneself.
